The Property
In the heart of unspoilt Tarka country, (from Henry Williamson's "Tarka the Otter") Bartridge Farm Cottage is ideally situated to explore the rolling landscape of Exmoor, the deep wooded valleys, rugged coastline, sandy beaches, pretty villages or bustling seaside towns.
The cottage is set in its own tranquil location next to the farmhouse amongst farmland on the side of the Taw valley. Approached along a private lane that winds its way up from the River Taw below to its commanding viewpoint on the side of the valley, it provides spectacular views for many miles around. Buzzards, deer, badgers, rabbits, foxes, owls, bats and kingfishers are amongst a number of animals that are local inhabitants.
The cottage and pool were imaginatively restored in 1992 from 17th century stone barns, retaining original features such as oak beams but with the benefit of modern comforts.

Bedroom 1
1 King size bed with new pocket sprung superior mattress plus single bed, built in wardrobe, drawers and radio alarm clock and hair dryer
Bedroom 2
Full size bunk beds with built in wardrobe, drawers etc. This is a very small room ideal for youngsters or one adult.
Cot
The cot is a full size wooden one with mattress. It fits in either bedroom. Please let us know which room you require it in.
Living
Fireplace, sofa, armchair, rocking chair, payphone and internet access point (up to 6 meg), 32" flatscreen LCD TV with Freeview and Freesat, video player. DVD player. Collection of videos also available.
Domestic
Tumble dryer, washing maching and freezer in the utility room. Avilable in the cottage: fridge, hob, microwave, double oven with grill, iron, night lights, smoke alarms, torch, payphone. Full signal strength for all mobile phone networks. Free broadband internet connection also available.
Dining
Dining area, seating for 5 (high chair also available).
Bathroom
Bath, shower, sink and toilet. There is also another shower and toilet in the pool area.
Swimming Pool
Heating
Full oil fired central heating in every room plus a super log burner in the lounge. The central heating boiler is situated outside the property but guests have full control over the heating.
Other Facilities
Fully carpeted throughout. Games, jigsaws and book and video collection. Linen is provided. (towels not provided).
